it is biblical in a way
turning water into wine
turning a week into a world

there’s a place in Chicago that felt like home
soft and honest work
drove the car and bought the drinks
A gentleman

I slept in a bed I barely knew,
curled up into the strangers arms
felt the safety and comfort
of learning and growing into myself

Although it is an outstretched nail scarred palm
a grip to the forearm that pulls me up
in some type of overwhelming long night
there’s holiness in the trying to be present

To be so close to the moment
To the religion of human connection
Overpowering all the misfortunes of ending so many relationships before
